Price guide, 2026
These are the ranges we see on real jobs around the metro this year. Filter by type of work, sort by price, and read the notes underneath before you compare quotes.

Most single-tree removals in Atlanta land between a few hundred dollars for a small, open tree and a few thousand for a large oak over a roof. Trimming runs from under two hundred for a small tree to near two thousand for a big crown. Stump grinding is usually a separate, smaller line. Access, decay, what sits under the tree and crane time move every number.

Before you compare quotes
A tree the truck can back up to costs less than one in a fenced backyard where every round is carried through a side gate.
Roofs, pools, fences and service drops mean rigging and lowering instead of dropping, which takes time and people.
Sound wood can be climbed. Hollow or dead wood may need a lift or a crane, which changes the day.
A crane adds a day rate but can cut the hours on a very large tree, so it sometimes lowers the total.
Inside Atlanta and some other cities, a permit comes first. Dead, dying and hazardous trees in Atlanta carry no application fee.
Night and storm calls cost more than planned work, mostly because of the conditions crews work in.
Questions
Quotes differ because companies plan the job differently. One may plan to climb and lower, another to bring a crane, and some leave out hauling or stump grinding. Ask each quote to list the method, the cleanup and what happens to the wood.
No. They are typical ranges from real jobs this year. We give a firm price after seeing the tree, and that price covers the cutting, the cleanup and the hauling unless we say otherwise.
Policies differ. Many cover removing a tree that fell on a covered structure, and fewer cover a standing tree or one that fell in the yard. Call your insurer, and keep the photos you took before anything was moved.
No. Removal leaves the stump flush with the ground, and grinding is priced as its own line, starting with the first stump and dropping for each added stump on the same visit.
